Not tough enough

I usually use VF hickory 5As and I get through them at a fair rate - about one pair a month, so I thought I?d give some oak sticks a try. These sticks lasted two or three rehearsals before they snapped. Vic Firth sticks usually fray where I rimshot and break at that location, but these sticks just snapped in two along the grain..I guess oak is just too brittle for me.

It may be due to using VF for years, but these sticks didn?t feel as grippy as VF (YMMV), I don?t need any more volume and I couldn?t hear any difference in sound from any of the drums.

In summary, oak is a fantastic material for making drums (and / or furniture) but not drum sticks.

Sehr gut verarbeitet und ausbalanciert. Durch das natural finish werden sie auch nicht glitschig wenn man viel schwitzt.
Was an Eiche noch interessant ist: selbst mit vielen Rimshots auf Die-Cast Spannringen wird das Holz nur langsam weggenagt und bricht nicht einfach längs durch wie es manchmal bei Hickory der Fall ist.

Finition un peu étrange

J'ai acheté ces baguettes en pensant que leur finition était vernie comme pour les Tama O241B (que Thomann ne distribue pas au passage). En fait je me trouve avec une finition brute et franchement je n'arrive pas du tout à m'y faire (certainement par habitude). Du coup je ne m'en sert pas et je me suis fourni ailleurs de mes O241B adorées !

Richtig kränk wie schwer die Eichendinger sind. Aber trotzdem sind sie richtig dünn und extrem haltbar. Hab sie schon seit kompletten 3 Jährchen und kann echt nicht meckern. Deshalb 5 Sterne für die Verarbeitung. Ich dass es immer noch nicht wie ends gut die Quali ist.
Insgesamt leider nur 4 Sterne weil es sind halt Stöcke und meine Freundesgruppe lacht mich immer aus weil ich so begeistert bin :(
(P.S. funktionieren auch prima zum Sushi Essen oder für andere Asiatische Gerichte 👍)
